The best way to care for your handmade Studio Tuft tufted rug
The only thing you need to do for your rug is… Vacuum regularly!
This super easy action removes the surface dust and will keep your rug looking fresh by restoring the colour and pile height. If you have one use your vacuum cleaner’s rug attachment. Occasionally (maybe twice a year) vacuum the reverse of the rug, this keeps the rug moving and deters moths.
If you have a furry pet hoovering regularly will help with any excess fur on your rug.
No need to worry just precautions
Keep your woollen rugs safe from moths with this treatment
Your rug is backed with latex, which is natural pest repellent, all you need to do is hoover regularly.
However, if moths seem keen to make a home where they are unwanted, choose a moth treatment and follow the manufacturer’s instructions. I recommend zero in moth killer (it has purple packaging) for something a little less chemically I recommend the essential oils cedar wood, lavender and tea tree, drop these 3 in your home to repel moths.
your rug can be in a sunny spot
Keep your tufted rug from fading.
The quality rug wool that is used in your rug keeps it’s colour really well, I have not heard of any fading on the rugs. If this is a worry for you keep out of direct and constant sunlight.
I have a rug in the sun next to my balcony window and no fading has happened.
rugs are easier to clean than you think!
Spot cleaning your woollen tufted rug
Do NOT put your rug in the washing machine! To clean any problem areas or spillages, use your sponge and a gentle blotting action with warm water and a mild detergent (like washing up liquid) or a 1:2 mix of water and vinegar.
If it needs a bit more use Dr Beckman carpet stain remover which you can find in most super markets and view the video below for step by step instructions.
Mud can look alarming but it is one of the most simple things to clean off a rug! Simply wait for it to dry and brush off with a hard brush or hoover up.
